What brings you happiness and joy? Here are a few tips on how I use a pocket full of happiness to make my days run smoother. There are numerous ways to keep a bit of happiness in your pocket throughout the day. Here are a few ways that I like to remind myself to do, to feel happiness and joy daily and also spread it around!
Tips for a Pocket Full of Happiness for you to ponder:
1) Take a favorite quote and scrawl it on a wall, mirror, refrigerator, computer screen saver, wherever you tend to look on a daily basis.
2) Come up with a personal positive affirmation that reflects a current goal and say it to yourself everytime you sit down or stand up.
3) Keep chalk in your car and write a huge fun word in the parking space that you just parked in for the next person to see. I like the word “smile” and “laugh”
4) Mark Twain said, “Against the assault of laughter nothing can stand.” Try a few deep belly laughs. Studies show that even if you are faking it your brain lights up in a positive way and you can shift your mood.
5) Don’t feel comfortable with fake laughing out loud. Just fake smile! Your brain doesn’t know the difference and will read it as a mood boost!
Bonus Tip: I painted chalk walls in my office (you will see them if you make an appointment) and I write chalk quotes on the walls to keep me inspired. I did the same thing at home on my pantry doors. (Works great for keeping track of grocery lists too;)
