Glitz Up Your Holiday Season – With More of YOU!
It is not unusual to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, so why not glitz up your holiday season – with more of you? If it involves making arrangements, gathering people together, preparing food, gift-giving (on any level) and trying to pack all of these “extras” into regular, everyday living, then chances are your happiness can take a hit and instead you can feel stressed and stretched to the max during holiday season! This year, how about cutting out the stress and allowing yourself and others in your life to experience more of the “real” you? Try these on for size:
Creating Holiday Happiness
1) Say no to any party/commitment that you don’t actually want to attend.
2) Delegate. Delegate. Delegate. Trusting others to get the job done not only frees up time for you, it also empowers them and allows you to practice new leadership skills.
3) Replace some usual holiday activities with acts of service. The peace you feel will be amazing—and, you are afforded a chance to be genuinely authentic with the people you’re serving.
4) Enroll everyone in your life in giving fewer gifts and using that extra time and money to spend with each other on an activity or experience. You can also chip in to help a family member join you who wouldn’t otherwise be in a financial position to spend the holidays with “the family.”
Whatever you end up doing this holiday season, have the courage to let others see as much of the real, authentic you as possible, with everyone (you included) experiencing as much happiness as possible this beautiful holiday season. Happy Holidays!
Warmly,
Elisabeth
