6 Ways to Open Yourself to Love
Who doesn’t enjoy the feeling of being loved and being in love? It fills us with warmth and giddiness and excitement. But what if we’ve been hurt and wounded by life or past loves, leaving us feeling reluctant to open ourselves up to the risk of heartbreak and sadness again?
6 Ways to Open Yourself to Love
~Practice loving yourself first.
~Be Curious and live juuuuust outside of your comfort zone.
~Participate in activities that bring you joy.
~Smile often, make eye contact, open up your body language.
~Find opportunities for service on a regular basis.
~Be open to new opportunities and experiences, join groups, take a class, do something new.
Allowing ourselves to be vulnerable to others (in platonic or romantic relationships alike) can feel incredibly scary. In fact, it can be downright paralyzing. Depending on our past experiences, opening ourselves back up to love and being loved is a process that varies from person to person. Being okay with who we are, though, is a great place to begin. Once we are confident that, no matter what happens, we will be okay, it naturally becomes easier and more comfortable to open ourselves up and let in others.
