5 Steps to Finding the Freedom in Making Changes
At first, the idea of finding the “freedom” in making changes sounds confusing. It is so easy to get stuck in a rut that is uncomfortable, unsatisfying and, oh, so familiar that making changes sounds more like a chore. How often do we wish for a better, more fulfilling, desirable or captivating life or lifestyle, yet we feel paralyzed (or petrified) to make the necessary changes to achieve that “wished-for” life? In the end, we’re left with an experience of frustration and the seeming inability to live the life we say we want. Where is the freedom in that?
Here are the 5 Steps to Finding the Freedom in Making Changes
1) Determine one small thing you would like to change that would have you feel an immediate sense of freedom, but is a change you feel you are unable to make today.
2) Take 1 action today that you can control that will get you closer to making that small, desired change.
3) Repeat Step 2 until you’ve successfully made the change you identified in Step 1.
4) Start the process over again from the beginning on another change and continue this exercise as many times as it takes for you to make ALL the changes you need or want to make in pursuit of that lifestyle you have in your sights.
5) Bonus: After making the first few “minor” life changes, increase your ambition in the next change you decide to pursue. Request outside support if needed and where appropriate.
Achieving success, no matter what it is, is simply a series of consistent actions over time until said success has been attained. That’s it. The formula is no fancier than this. With these 5 steps to finding the freedom in making changes, it’s simple! With rare exception, anyone can change their life regardless of current circumstances or what life has delivered thus far. Now, I ask you: Are you seeing the freedom yet?!
