Ever Feel Just “Off”? Here are some ways to get back on track!
Wow! New year…coming off the holiday distractions and everything feels fuzzy…
Ever feel… well just off?
I have been “off” lately. Don’t get me wrong the holidays were lovely….and life was happening.
Car broke down (not so fun part of life) and I went on vacation (really fun part of life)! Had some medical issues myself and the dog got sick. Oh wait, the whole family got sick… So, had some great and not so great things happening which, let’s face it, is LIFE! But for me, during the holidays, everything seems to be just a bit more stressful.
Some good stress and some not so good stress.
Where am I going with this? Well as I’ve jumped into the new year I’ve noticed that my self-care has gone down hill.
It helps to self evaluate where you are in life and when it’s time to make changes.
What I’ve noticed in the new year so far is that I haven’t been practicing self-care as well as I need to be. (Notice I didn’t use the word “should”). I’m making observations, not getting down on myself or beating myself up.
Self-evaluation doesn’t need to be a self recriminating thing.
Here is what I have noticed…
I haven’t been meditating,
I haven’t been eating consistently to keep my blood sugar steady,
I haven’t been exercising.
So with this realization on January 9th of the new year,
I made a decision this morning to meditate for 20 minutes and get back on track.
I made a decision to work out at karate tonight.
I made a decision to eat regularly and healthy just for today.
Half the battle is finding out where we need to make changes.
The other half the battle is making a decision to change it.
Where do you need to get back in track?
